Envy
Envy is an emotion that arises when someone desires something that another person has, whether it be a possession, achievement, or quality. Envy can be negative and can cause feelings of bitterness, resentment, and even hostility towards the person who has what is desired. Envy can also be a motivator for some people, driving them to work harder and strive for their goals. However, when envy is left unchecked, it can lead to destructive behavior and can be harmful to both the envious person and those around them. To cope with envy, it’s important to acknowledge and accept your feelings, but also to focus on your own strengths and accomplishments rather than comparing yourself to others. Practicing gratitude and shifting your focus towards what you do have instead of what you lack can also help combat feelings of envy.
